The Chefs of Worcester
Worcester's Wine Cellar
All about onions:
This unassuming Vietnamese restaurant on Park Avenue, Dalat, did a great Bo Luc Lat; I would return again—though I would ask if my selection was spicy!
The Spicy Tofu and Vegetables might not be on the menu when I go back. But, I am certain that my next experience at Dalat will be just as outstanding.
My suggestion is don’t forget “the other side” of the menu when you visit Chuan Shabu on Park Avenue in Worcester, especially the spicy beef wok.
Duck Comfit Chimichangas from Mezcal Tequila Cantina was rolled and deep-fried flour tortillas filled with mushrooms, onions, jalapeños and jack cheese, topped with salsa verde, chipotle aioli and creme, served with Mexican rice.
The Duck Confit chimichanga came out fried to golden brown perfection, covered in a vibrant salsa verde, chipotle aioli and crema topping.
Even though there were a lot of toppings in the pie’s description, it wasn’t overdone. The balance between spicy, salty and texture was just right.
Tucked away in the Quinsigamond Village section of Worcester is a relative newcomer to Worcester’s dining options: Blackstone Bistro. After sitting down and opening the menu my first thought was how reasonable the prices were. There were plenty of options for appetizers and I was tempted to try the Queso Frito with Mango sauce, but opted […]
Pho Dakao is one of my favorite places to eat in Worcester, not only because of the food but because the overall experience is outstanding. Service is always good, food is fresh and tasty, atmosphere is casual and inviting and you can enjoy a variety of well prepared meals at a very reasonable price. For this […]
Pho Dakao has been a long time favorite for Vietnamese food in the Worcester area. A long time favorite of mine, Pho has always provided interesting extensive menu of comfort food and unique dishes. As I sat down for dinner and looked over the menu I decided that I was having one of those nights […]
99% of restaurants have “safe” options in their menu, food everyone will recognize that is prepared and served in a familiar way. This being my first time experiencing Vietnamese food, I wanted nothing to do with safe. What can I say, I must be an adrenaline junkie. Having skipped lunch, I jumped at the chance […]
Pho Dakao is one my go-to places for client lunch meetings in Worcester. I have never had a bad experience and really enjoy the bright open atmosphere, prompt service, and interesting menu. It’s perfect for a business lunch–informal, yet very clean and professional. Since I’ve only been there for lunch and already knew the food […]
I am no stranger to Le Mirage. In fact, I have been known to visit the Mediterranean restaurant several times a month, usually ordering the tried and true Eggplant Parmesan, but for the sake of Worcester Foodies I decided to try something new—the Chicken Cacciatore. To warm up to my dinner, I started with house […]
With a name like Caffe Espresso Trattoria, my mind conjured up a picture of a small storefront Café with a limited seating and menu. I was pleasantly surprised to find a larger establishment neatly tucked away behind a Rite Aid Pharmacy. This is definitely one of those locations you need to know where it is […]
For the past year I have heard many people raving about Caffe Espresso Trattoria on Chandler Street so I was very much looking forward to my first visit there. The Italian dishes are hearty, the portions large and the atmosphere was casual. It was s great first time visit for me. The bread was the way […]
Two grilled filet mignon medallions, cracked black pepper, caramelized onions, gorgonzola cream served over a bountiful amount of linguine pasta topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and cracked pepper.
Since opening in 2007, Via Italian Table has been offering very authentic dishes. But for those who heart does not lay within Italy, their hearty dishes (think steak) adds the flare and flavors that is loved beyond any other. The grilled rib eye—hand cut, 16 oz., served with oven roasted cremini mushrooms and cipollini onions—partners […]
